Lower Platte North NRD Shell Creek Septic System Upgrade Cost Share

The Shell Creek Watershed Improvement Group (SCWIG) was established in 1999 as a locally–led cadre of producers, residents, non-governmental organizations, as well as, state and federal agencies with the purpose of addressing the multi-faceted impairments of Shell Creek. The watershed experienced numerous damaging flood events and had multiple water quality concerns, including E. coli and atrazine impairments. Septic systems can be a direct source for E. coli, and other potential pathogens, to negatively impact water quality.
